Habitat Resource Network
of Southeast Pennsylvania

dedicated to sustainable habitats for people and wildlife
SUPPORT WILDLIFE
HABITAT

Habitat Restoration is critical for
wildlife survival in urban and
suburban settings where
development has eliminated most
natural areas.

Create a sense of place: Southeast
PA has a unique natural heritage

Connect with nature: Functional
ecosystems support life

Connect fragmented habitat: Stop
species decline of birds, amphibians
and native plants

Reduce time and money:  Lawn-
dominated landscapes consume
time, money and resources

Reduce health risks from pesticides
and other chemicals: 10x more
pesticides per acre are used on
suburban lawns than on farmland

Preserve water quality and reduce
flooding: Decrease runoff & keep
water on-site

Remember we are stewards of the
Earth
